To build relationships with existing and new customers
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and extract the required information for reliable costs and estimates
Strong knowledge of subcontract requirements
Give technical support to customers
To use estimating processes in order to issue quotations in a timely manner
To record quotations and all associated information in the required manner.
To ensure new and repeat orders are entered, acknowledged correctly and concisely
To generate Routing and Work Order information for manufacture
To liaise with Customers, Design Engineers and Production to arrive at a viable cost and timely solution for the client
To manage customer expectations
To identify and log potential customers for future sales follow ups
To visit customers and/or their projects when required
The ideal candidate should have experience with customer relationship management and be familiar with the fabrication / sheet metal estimation processes and have experience preferably from within the sheet metal fabrication / engineering industry. Training on in house systems will be made available.
The role will require the Sales Estimator to grow existing customer accounts, whilst securing new business from incoming enquiries and ultimately seeking out new customers across targeted sectors.
They will need to be able to identify customer requirements in order to create, log and submit official quotations and process subsequent orders i.e. Estimate labour & material costs related to raw materials, labour costs, bought in items (hardware etc) equipment rentals, and subcontracted work from customers engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Appropriate sales and estimating experience
Technical knowledge of sheet metal and general fabrication processes
Ability to interpret technical/engineering drawings
A commercial and practical understanding of manufacture including quality systems
Working knowledge on CAD software, would be an advantage.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook
Knowledge of fabrication & machining processes would be a benefit
Excellent attention to detail
Full driving licence would be an advantage
Solid estimating background on fabrication & sheet metal projects
Good organisational Skills
